Euclid Law’s Response to the UK Government Consultation “Refining our Competition Regime

The UK government consultation “Refining our Competition Regime” closed on 31 March 2026.  The UK Government is proposing significant changes to how it regulates mergers and investigates markets, including the controversial proposed abolition of Inquiry Panels.

While some reforms are intended to offer faster, more cost-effective resolutions for simpler deals, others risk reducing predictability and independent scrutiny in complex, high-stakes transactions, while potentially granting the CMA broader powers to intervene in everyday markets.

Euclid Law has submitted a response to the consultation, which can be found here.
